You have the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect

  • Have your privacy and personal information protected
  • Make your own decisions and have choice and control over your support
  • Receive clear information in a way you can understand
  • Ask questions before agreeing to a service
  • Involve a trusted support person, nominee or advocate
  • Have your culture, identity, values, beliefs and communication preferences respected
  • Request reasonable adjustments to make services more accessible
  • Take reasonable risks and make choices about your own life
  • Say no, change your mind or withdraw optional consent
  • Know what services will cost before they begin
  • Ask to access or correct information held about you
  • Provide feedback or make a complaint
  • Make a complaint without being threatened, disadvantaged or treated unfairly
  • Change providers or end your services
  • Receive support with a safe and respectful transition where appropriate

Supported decision-making

KINETIX will communicate directly with you wherever possible and support you to understand your options.

A family member, carer or support person does not automatically make decisions for an adult client. KINETIX may ask for evidence where someone claims legal authority to act on another person’s behalf.

You may ask for additional time, accessible information or help from someone you trust before making a decision.

If something does not feel right

Please tell us if you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, unheard or unhappy with any part of your service.

You may contact KINETIX directly, involve an advocate or make a complaint to an external organisation.
